AtoZChallenge 2020
Greetings Lovelies, and welcome to the letter O. For this year's AtoZ I am introducing my new podcast and eBooks, with character intros, places and themes from The Manor. The episodes go out every Tuesday so look up E, L, R & X, or just check out the podcast & book pages.
Today I have another character profile for you. Now I love all my characters, but I have to admit I have a really soft spot for this one. Welcome to an introduction to Oli.
O is for Oli
Oli |
Aka: Oli
Species: Half-Fae
Age: 28
Hair: Dark Blond, short, wavy when he doesn't style it
Eyes: Blue to green, it depends
Height: 6'0'' / 182cm
Pronouns: he/him
Oli won big style when it came to genetics with a fae mother and a good looking father, even if his father was complete scum. From the age of 10 he used his angelic face and his fae magic to become a pretty good thief, after life dumped him on his own.
However, he lucked out when he tried to pick pocket Lucy when he was 13. Rather than reporting him to the police, she took him home, made sure he knew he had a new family, and sent him to a very good boarding school which he attended until he was 18, only coming home for the holidays.
Lucy wanted to make sure he had options. However, when he finished school, he insisted on joining "the family business". He often partners Drage as one of the most popular couples in The Manor's Theatre and the pair are a in fully commited relationship. This, however, does not stop him having a few personal clients as well, although, with his and Drage's popularity on stage, he doesn't have many.
He had his eye on Drage for several years, but it took him a while to convince the dragon shifter that they would make a good couple. Drage is all but convinced Oli is too young for him and really needs someone closer to his own age. Oli continues to make sure Drage knows he is all Oli wants. Oli is absolutely sure he wants to put a ring on it, but Drage is reluctant.
Oli's magic can be erratic for some things, but he is very, very good at fae glamours and has powers of persuassion. He is also capable of telepathic conversation with those also gifted with magic, like Lucy and Drage. Exposure to powerful magical beings and places charges his magic, and intitmate contact increases this even more. Hence, every time he and Drage have sex, Oli gets a magical as well as physical high.
He is usually a very upbeat person, but, due to his personal history is prone to bouts of depression from time to time. Thankfully he has his Manor family to support him when he doubts himself and his worth.
Thank you for reading, I hope Oli intrigues you enough to check out the podcast and the books.

Q.If you have the power to change your appearance, what would you change? Would you mess with your hair colour, eye colour, shape of your nose or something else, or nothing at all?
I think it would be fun to change my hair colour at will. Imagine how many people would be thoroughly confused.
My other self (Natasha Duncan-Drake) is also taking part in this years AtoZChallenge over at Tasha's Thinkings. Her theme is Vampire Drabbles (100 word stories). O is for Old

I would totally change my hair color at will. I am only not changing it in real life often because it damages the hair.
ReplyDeleteAlso, magical high :D Reminds me of Lost Girl.
The Multicolored Diary
Lost Girl - I remember that - only ever managed to watch 2 eps I think. Kept meaning to go back and catch up, but never did. Should do that at some point.
DeleteI like the varied ways the residents of The Manor come to be there.
ReplyDeleteChanging my hair colour at will sounds like an awesome power to have... especially when hair dye is one of the products one isn't allowed to buy (it's not considered an essential item so it's not for sale right now -- I can see my roots!).
ReplyDeleteAn A-Z of Faerie: Occult
